Intensive In Home Counselor, Stafford Virginia

Duties:

Provide interventions to children and adolescents (ages 5-18) in their home environment and in the community to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.

Assess client needs and create individualized treatment plans with measurable goals

Provide crisis stabilization and support to clients and families, including de-escalation techniques and safety planning.

Coordinate services with schools, social services, medical providers, and other community resources to ensure comprehensive care.

Teach coping strategies, communication skills, emotional regulation, and other necessary life skills to clients and families.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

Conduct sessions in the client's home and participate in community-based interventions as needed.

Follow all professional, ethical, and legal guidelines to ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.

Work independently performing position duties under general supervision.

Engage in training, supervision, and continuing education to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices in intensive in-home services.

Complete additional assigned tasks as needed.
Experience:
Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Child (QMHP-C) or Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T). If not currently registered, must be able to obtain registration within 30 days.
Previous experience in counseling is preferred. At least 1 year in the behavioral health field required.
Driver's license
Must obtain CPR/ First Aid certification in addition to other trainings as required by DBHDS
Must successfully complete criminal background and central registry check
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
